Updates:
- Added position indicator in top left corner. This will get indicate your position in the world more clearly so you can better remember where things are, or make your way back to a specific place (arrow indicators already helping with that a lot as well)
- Master, music and sound effects volume sliders were added directly in the Pause Menu for now, these will likely move into a Settings Menu eventually, but it was nice to have a visual representation of those somewhere so you don't have to remember the key commands (which now no longer work anyway).
- Added the controls information on the Main Menu until I can put it somewhere more relevant (want to make sure people know how to play it even if they don't see the main page)
Thoughts/Observations:
- Most these features were informational, or refactoring (music controls). More substantial features to come. I'm currently working on a couple new upgrades.
- The game lacks any purpose to go anywhere away from the ports (other than exploration to see the two that currently exist). I plan on fixing this in the future to have different crystals and crystal rates depending on where you are in order to drive the player out to explore and find new 'high resource' areas or something. This will probably mean I have to refactor the crystal spawning a bit. In addition to just getting crystals, I have plans to have 'spawned events' where you may find an abandoned ship, abandoned cargo or random floating item to collect.
