Updates:
- Modified camera to follow space ship and removed invisible walls at the screen edges
- Added ability for crystals to spawn in from all sides
- Limited how many crystals can spawn in in the 'playing field' at a single time. Playing field being a region just a few units larger than the camera on each side
- Limited total number of crystals (currently set at 30 crystals) you can collect per 'instance'. Currently the entire game right now is a single instance. If you aren't seeing any more crystals, you have to exit and re-enter game. This will be improved later by limiting amount of time in instance by restricting ship fuel and docking on planets/stations
Thoughts/Observations:
- It's currently a little hard to tell when/how fast the ship is moving because there's not really any indicators except the crystals around you. This will definitely be improved in the future (maybe indicated by stars in background, or 'speed streaks' behind ship). Ship engine animations will be added as well, indicating when you are accelerating forward.
- 30 crystals/instance is probably a number too small for someone who just wants to chill and watch the score go up current state. I will bump that number up next release until I have instances better established in the game. I just realized this post-build/upload, so it's a 'bug' for now.
- It may not be noticeable, but angled velocity crystals are at 45 degree only, and only from a very specific corner area in each corner. This could probably be improved. On the other hand, it's not really that noticeable either.
