Updates:

  • Added the first space station (you can fly straight forward from the starting position for a short bit to reach it). Press Enter/Return while near/over the space station to dock at the port. Press Enter/Return while docked to take off again.
  • Basic initial view of the port screen was built. All buttons are currently non-functional at this time, and the crystal numbers do not reflect either inventory (space station or yours).

Thoughts/Observations:

  • The three buttons (Buy/Sell 1, 10, Max) will not work long term as different increments will be nice to have depending on frequency of crystals and length of time spent playing the game. At some point a player may reach 1k crystals and wont want to decide to sell in increments of 10 or sell all. 
  • Need to add currency amounts by crystals to indicate what you get for selling, or what you spend for buying.
  • There is no way to find a planet/space station currently.. you basically just have to drift past one. This will need some significant improvements in order to make it back to the port before you run out of fuel. You could also technically just sit over the base, and hope crystals come floating by for you to collect, so Ill have to think of a way to prevent that, forcing the player away from the space station in order to collect.
  • Still need to implement a fuel system, however, I decided to work on the 'ports' systems first, as limiting your distance/time to fly around before landing is available wouldn't be fun or make testing easy.
